It may be hard to believe with the snow that we've had this last week and what the weather forecast is for the weekend, but this winter is almost over.  Soon enough it'll be so hot that you'll have to hang out in the freezer department at your local grocery store. Reno Harley-Davidson is happy to welcome participants in the USBC open championships.

Reno Harley-Davidson is pleased to welcome all participants in the USBC Open Championships (formerly the ABC Championships Tournament).


The USBC Open Championship taking place in right here in Reno is widely recognized as the largest participatory sporting event in the world. Consisting of teams, doubles, singles and an optional all-events competition, the Championship is held in a different city each year. Normally the tournament is so big as it consists of 48 lanes that it has to be conducted in convention centers or sports arenas, but since Reno has the bowling mecca right downtown with our National Bowling Stadium, Reno is the perfect place to hold this huge event.

The championship will run from Feb. 20 - July 4, 2010, and this event already has over 13,000 teams signed up to participate.  The championship has a long history dating back to 1901 when it first began in Chicago.  The first tournament lasted four days and had 41 teams participating with a $1592 prize fund.  Today this four month bowling championship attracts between 60,000 and 90,000 particpants from all 50 states and several foreign countries all vying for a piece of a $6 million prize fund.

March is National Garage Party Month

 This March is Harley-Davidson's national Garage Party Month and Reno Harley-Davidson is getting in on the act.

We'll be hosting two garage parties during the month of March one on the 11th and one two weeks later on the 25th.

If you attend one of our Garage Parties you'll be eligible to enter for a chance to win a weekend getaway with your girlfriends and America's wellness expert and H-D rider Jillian Michaels. The weekend will feature participation in the H-D Rider's Edge® New Rider Course, where you'll learn how to ride a motorcycle and at the completion of the course you'll be given a card from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation which in the state of Nevada will allow you to get your motorcycling endorsement on your license.  Also you'll enjoy spa treatments and a motivational talk with Jillian on how to live a better, healthier life.  Talk about a perfect women's getaway weekend.

So what is a ladies' only garage party? Garage Parties are social events hosted by Reno Harley-Davidson after hours that offer hands-on tips and seminars on key areas of motorcycling basics.  We walk you through all the departments at the dealership and have a member of our staff from each of the departments teach you what you'll need to know to enter the motorcycling world.  It's a relaxed friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy some refreshments and ask all the questions that you'd like about everything from which bike is the right ride for your needs to which gear you need to keep you safe on the road.

• You'll be able to try all the latest motorcycle safety gear like leather jackets, helmets, boots, riding gloves and more.
• You'll learn how to pick up a motorcycle that's on it's side and practice it with one of our bikes on the floor.  It's amazing to find out that you can lift one of these machines on your own.
• You'll learn how to talk motorcycles.  You'll learn the different lingo and figure out which bike is your best fit.
• And you'll learn how Harley-Davidson can customize your motorcycle to create the perfect bike for your style and needs.

New Genuine Motor Accessories for 2010!

Okay it doesn't seem like it right now, but winter will end and spring will come to Reno. Bikes will pop out of garages, barns and storage sheds. Owners will once again begin the task of cleaning and freshening up their bike.

Harley-Davidson has outstanding selection of new Genuine Motor Accessories in 2010. The Edge Cut Collection features Black anodized parts that are machined to raw aluminum for a tough custom look. The full range of hand controls, pedals, pegs and footboard inserts are available in this collection. The Diamond Ice Collection includes gauge trim rings, license plate frame, fuel cap medallion and fuel tank console door with a touch of bling. Clear crystal rhinestones add a brilliant flash and dance in the direct sunlight. Don't want to depend on sunlight for bling. The new Electra Glo rider footboard Inserts give you day and night flash with 36 LEDs on each side. These inserts fit the traditional shaped footboards on '86 and later touring models. The red, amber,blue and purple inserts compliment the Electra-Glo Light Pods.

The Dark custom theme continues in 2010. H-D is now offering their own 16 inch black Fat Ape Handlebar Kit complete with matching black risers. The solo spring seat is now available in black as well as brown. Dyna owners can now get a Chopped Rear Fender, and a Chrome Side Mount License Plate Bracket. A black and chrome Contrast cut Roulette Wheel, Black Mustache Bar and the long awaited Tribal Footboard Insert are also new for 2010.

Your parts list can be set up as a Wish List that can be emailed, accessed by family and friends or used by the dealership to create point of sale quote or entered directly into a work order or bike deal.
