Receive up to $5000 off any remaining Buell on our showroom floor.

Right now you can get the best deal on America's premier sport motorcycle that has been or ever will be. Right now Reno Harley-Davidson is offering up to $5000 off any remaining Buell motorcycle that we have on our showroom floor.

Buell® motorcycles are different because they take any path necessary to find more performance for the rider, even if it means walking all over current engineering doctrine along the way. Buell motorcycles provide a style and ride that is unsurpassed on the market and they have paved the way with some truly groundbreaking motorcycle design over the history of the line.

Reno Harley-Davidson/Buell home of Northern Nevada's most technologically advanced service department will continue to be an authorized Buell service provider and we've been proud to carry the Buell line and we still feel that Buell offers a truly quality product. So make sure that you stop by the dealership and check out our inventory and perhaps score yourself one of the few Buells we have left on our floor.

Austrailia's Kain Saul and America's Chuck Carothers backflip an XR1200.

Now kids we'd rather not see you try this at home in fact to put it simply don't. But do look at this amazing video of Kain Saul taking this piece of American muscle and flips it like it were an enduro. I don't think anyone out there can say that the XR1200 isn't a sporty brute.

Not to be outdone Chuck Carothers decides that while he's in Prague at the FMX Gladiator Games he'd try a flip of his own. Carothers decides not only would he attempt Kain's badassery but he'd do it on a completely stock bike. Who says Sportsters are ladies bikes?

Art sale at RenoHD

Hey everyone we've decided that it's time to change some of the decor around the dealership and in the next few months you'll be seeing a lot of changes. The first step; however, is that the fine art prints that you've seen hanging on our walls, in our offices, and at our Silver Legacy location are all on sale immediately. These are prints and paintings done by some of the motorcycling world's finest artists such as Scott Jacobs. Some of these works were originally valued as high as $2000 and are on sale for as little as $300-400. All sales will be final and due to the nature of the sale we will only be accepting cash or check for these great pieces of art. So come by and take a look around for a painting that either suits your fancy or that of someone special on your Christmas list.

The 2010 FLTRX

The Road Glide Custom® is a tougher, lower vision of the shark-nose Harley-Davidson® classic, with a big 18-inch front wheel, a 2-into-1 exhaust, and a smooth tail light assembly. This bagger rolls with new swagger. The innovative Harley-Davidson Touring chassis is based on a single-spar, rigid backbone frame and a stout swingarm developed to withstand the demands of long-haul touring riders and today's more-powerful engines.

Features:

* New 2-1 Exhaust
* Integrated Fairing Storage – Two compartments for
* storage integrated into the fairing.
* Floorboards – Rider floorboards with Street Glide® style as well as passenger pegs.
* One-piece, Two-up Seat – One-piece Road King® classic seat for long-haul comfort for rider and passenger alike.
* Color-Matched Saddlebags – Hard, roomy, color-matched saddlebags with color-matched latches.
* New Rear Taillight – new custom rear taillight and fascia blend with the shorty windshield and low suspension to enhance the overall slammed design.
* New Helical Cut 5th Gear – 6-speed Cruise Drivetm transmission with a helical-cut 5th gear for improved transmission sound.
* Shorty Wind Deflector – Dark Shorty wind deflector with an all new angle.

“I recently replaced my 2003 FLTR with a 2010 FLTRX. Holy *#%$! This is without a doubt the finest Harley I have EVER ridden. The new frame is incredibly stable and responsive and has no hint of the "Bagger Wobble" which has sometimes afflicted earlier Touring bikes when used "in anger". The new frame has holds its line even when encountering nasty, mid-turn bumps and the ABS brakes allow me ride with the confidence that I can get maximum stopping power without losing control. The new 18" front wheel and styling cues taken from the Street Glide make it as beautiful to look at as it is to ride. All this helps when chasing Sean because he's already on the "new frame" and hasn't seemed to figure out that the throttle goes both ways. I'd strongly encourage everyone to come test ride the new FLTRX®; it is one BAD ASS motorcyle. But be ready to buy one. They are in stock and you won't be able to resist.”

Buell Questions and Answers

Reno Harley-Davidson/Buell would like to announce that we will continue to be an authorized Buell service provider and that we will be offering some of the best deals that you've ever seen on these great American sport bikes until our inventory is depleted. We've been proud to carry the Buell line and we still feel that Buell offers a truly quality product.

Below is a list of questions and answers that were posted to the Buell website after the announcement that Harley-Davidson Motor Company has decided to discontinue the line:

Why is Harley-Davidson discontinuing Buell after the recent new product introductions, racing success and new brand efforts?

The Company made the decision to discontinue the Buell product line as part of its strategy to focus on growth through the Harley-Davidson brand.

What will happen to the Buell motorcycles currently in dealer inventory?
Buell dealers will sell remaining motorcycle inventories. There will be no more Buell motorcycles produced.

Why should I buy a new Buell when you are discontinuing production?
The innovative features and overall quality of Buell motorcycles provide an outstanding ownership experience. The Company may be discontinuing the production of Buell motorcycles, but they are extremely exciting motorcycles to ride and own. The Company will continue to provide normal warranties on new motorcycles and provide parts and service support. Buell motorcycles offer an overall value proposition that is very compelling.

How good of a deal can I get on a new Buell?
See your local Buell dealer for his remaining available inventory and prices.

Will I be able to get financing for a new Buell?

HDFS will continue to finance Buell motorcycles. Please see your dealer for details.

How will I get my Buell serviced? Will you honor my warranty?
Authorized Buell Service Providers will provide warranty, service and repair work. And Harley-Davidson expects to be providing replacement parts and service for as many years as required market by market. Of course we will honor all of our warranties.

What about Buell racing and privateer Buell race teams? Will there be contingency programs like they have had in the past?
Buell will continue to supply parts to dealers to support racers who want to go racing next season. However, the racing support program and contingency will be discontinued.

Are any of the brand’s models going to be available as Harley-Davidson models?
Harley-Davidson has no plans to produce Buell motorcycles as Harley-Davidson products.

Will Harley-Davidson be using any Buell designs or incorporating Buell technology into the H-D product line?
Buell has introduced many advancements in motorcycle design and technology over the years. Harley-Davidson will continue to benefit from that knowledge going forward and it’s possible that some of this technology will find its way into a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Timmy's top 10 picks for winter!

Touring version comes with hook-and-loop secured openings to accommodate dual antennas.

(All cleaning products contained in this kit are biodegradable.)

1. Heated Hand Grips
Keep comfortable on those cool morning or frigid night rides. Warm hands have a major impact on overall body comfort, and sometimes gloves just aren't enough. These thermostatically controlled grips have variable heat settings and automatic temperature monitoring to adjust to changing ambient temperatures. The grips remain at a constant temperature regardless of changes in outside temperatures. The self-contained control circuit and control knob means you have no additional switches or controller boxes to mount, and the grips are switched on/off with the ignition to avoid draining your battery. ICE - 'In Case of Emergency'

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends.

If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this 'ICE' (In Case of Emergency) Campaign
The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell(mobile) phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE' ( In CaseOf Emergency).
The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as 'ICE.'
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a difference!
Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today! !
Please forward this. It won't take too many 'forwards' before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest. ICE will speak for you when you are not able to.

H.O.G. Members Logged Four Million Miles

On Monday, June 29, 2009, Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) members around the world logged 4,373,937 miles during the club’s second annual Million Mile Monday riding marathon.

“Our members set the bar pretty high after last year’s three million miles, and we are ecstatic to have exceeded that by more than 45 percent this year,” said Benny Suggs, General Manager of the Harley Owners Group. “But more important than the number of miles ridden is that so many of our members joined together on this special day to share the experience of motorcycling.”

To put the cumulative mileage in perspective, 4,373,937 miles is the equivalent of almost 77,000,000 American football fields (goal line to goal line) or more than 70,000,000 100-meter soccer fields.

If you could ride from the earth to the moon, you’d have to make more than nine round trips to log 4,373,937 miles on your odometer.

The world’s three longest rivers – the Nile, the Amazon, and the Yangtze – share a collective length of 12,124 miles. You’d have to travel the length of each river more than 360 times before traveling 4,373,937 miles.

Riding 4,373,937 miles on an average motorcycle compared to driving a standard passenger car saves nearly 109,375 gallons of gas (or 5,609 barrels of crude oil); at $3 a gallon, that’s a $328,125 savings in fuel.

Million Mile Monday is an annual event on the last Monday of June and is open to all H.O.G. members-- riders or passengers. The feat was recorded by logging into the club’s exclusive members-only website (members.hog.com), where participants registered their miles ridden on that day. For more information about H.O.G., log onto www.hog.com.

Founded in 1983, the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) is the official riding club of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. H.O.G. currently has more than one million members and over 1,400 chapters worldwide, making it the largest factory-sponsored motorcycle organization in the world. H.O.G. rallies are held around the globe to celebrate Harley-Davidson motorcycle riding.

Easy Rider, the classic American road movie, turns 40 today (July 14). The movie, starring Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper, tells the story of two bikers who travel the country to experience the freedom of the open road from the saddles of their motorcycles.

Fonda played “Captain America” in the movie, and his bike is one of the most recognizable motorcycles in history. There were originally two “Captain America” choppers used in the film, created from Harley-Davidson FLH police bikes. One of the original choppers was destroyed in the filming of the movie, and the other mysteriously disappeared from the movie set. A decade ago, to celebrate the film’s 30th, and with the help of Fonda and those who created the original bikes, an exact replica was created and is featured at the Harley-Davidson Museum. It’s part of a hotbed of pop culture goodies with ties to Harley-Davidson. The Museum also features a bike Elvis once owned, a replica of Evel Knievel’s bike from his attempt at jumping 13 buses at London’s Wembley Stadium, and owns bikes used in Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

“Harley-Davidson motorcycles have inspired filmmakers since the beginnings of modern film,” said Curatorial Director, Jim Fricke. “Our bikes have been featured in countless movies to portray the spirit of individualism, freedom and rebellion, and we have many examples of this at the Museum.”

The Harley-Davidson Museum is a celebration of America’s historic love affair with independence and the open road, and the company that has fueled the flame. Riders and non-riders alike will appreciate the Harley-Davidson success story of four young entrepreneurs who created a true American icon that has journeyed through 106 years.

Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day is this coming Monday

Motorcycle and scooter riders' 18th annual commuting day is this coming Monday, June 15th. Participation is estimated to triple the number of riders on the road. Motorcycle and scooter groups and organizations actively encourage riders to commute by cycle on this day.

Two wheeled commuters of all ages, and from all walks of life seek employer support for this form of transportation and increased public and government awareness of the positive value of riding.

More motorcycles and scooters in the mix of vehicles makes urban parking easier and traffic flow better, according to Ride to Work, a non-profit advocacy organization. Studies have also shown that across the same distances, the average cycle or scooter rider will reach their destinations in less time than automobile drivers. Many motorcycles and scooters also consume less resources per mile than automobiles.

"Riding to work on this day is fun and shows the positive value of motorcycling. For many people, riding is a socially responsible form of mobility that saves energy, helps the environment and provides a broad range of other public benefits," stated Andy Goldfine, this year's event organizer.

Largest Ever Ride To Work Day Expected

The 18th Annual Ride To Work Day is a month away, and this year the weaker economy is causing many commuters to turn to motorcycles and scooters to save money on transportation. These new everyday riders are finding cycles and scooters to be an economical, efficient and enjoyable way to get to work and around town. Because of the world-wide depression, this year is expected to be the largest Ride to Work Day demonstration ever, according to Ride to Work, a non-profit organization

According to the United States Census Bureau and the Department of Transportation, over eighty million cars and light trucks are used for daily commuting on American roads, and about 200,000 motorcycles and scooters are a regular part of this mix. On Ride To Work Day, the practical side of riding becomes more visible as a larger number of America's 8,000,000 cycles are ridden to work.

Ride to Work Day helps demonstrate how these vehicles make parking easier and help traffic flow better. Studies have shown that across equal distances, commuting motorcyclists reach their destinations in less time than those using automobiles, that motorcycles and scooters consume less resources per mile than automobiles, and that they take up less space on roads. Motorcycle and scooter riders seek improved employer recognition and support for this form of transportation, and more public and government awareness of the positive value of riding.

June 15th Annual Ride To Work Day

This year's eighteenth commuting demonstration event, to be held on Monday June 15th, is expected to double the number of riders on the road, according to Ride to Work, a non-profit advocacy organization.

According to the United States Census Bureau and the Department of Transportation, over eighty million cars and light trucks are used for daily commuting on American roads, and about 200,000 motorcycles and scooters are a regular part of this mix. On Ride To Work Day, the practical side of riding becomes more visible as a larger number of America's 8,000,000 cycles and scooters are ridden to work.

"Riding to work on this day shows the positive value of motorcycles and scooters for transportation. For several hundred thousand commuters, riding is an economical, efficient and socially responsible form of mobility that saves energy, helps the environment and provides a broad range of other public benefits," states Andy Goldfine, the event organizer. Motorcycle and scooter clubs and organizations in many countries encourage their members to ride to work on this day.

Ride to Work Day shows how riding makes parking easier and help traffic flow better. Motorcycles and scooters consume less resources per mile than automobiles, and they take up less space in parking areas and on roads. Riders seek employer support for this form of transportation, and increased government and public awareness about riding's many benefits.

Can I hear that at 80 MPH

Here it is 4:45 PM on a Friday and the traffic on north bound 395 is just flying along. Normally it is gridlock rapidly turning into parking lot by this time of the day. I can only think it is a testimony to the reduction in the local work force. Like watching your mother-in-law driving your new car over a cliff, I have mixed feelings about the reduced number of commuters. Fewer commuters means fewer workers, and that eventually means fewer dollars to spend at Reno Harley-Davidson/Buell (not a good thing). It also means fewer opportunities to be put in harms way by a ton or so of metal trying to occupy the same space I am in, on my scooter (not a bad thing). Either way it makes me want to get out there and ride very far, very fast. Which brings me around to, "can I hear the radio at 80 MPH?"

80 seems to be a benchmark for a majority of bagger buyers. If you can hear the radio at 80 then life is good I guess. I almost never am asked "can you hear the radio at 120". I am thinking that at 120 you are mostly focused on riding the bike not rocking AC/DC. What ever the speed you need to listen to music you can do it on your Harley. Now you can sample that sound in the Reno H-D parts department. Our new speaker display features a bat wing fairing with a Harmon-Kardon advanced audio system and a set of J&M after market fairing speakers.

The J&M speakers are in my opinion the best you can buy for the money you spend. Each speaker has a water-proof molded polycarbonate woofer and two tweeters. Each speaker is designed to handle 140 watts! The stock audio system puts out 40 watts per channel. ( I'm thinking an amp here) The speakers are direct replacements for the stock speakers. They just bolt right in. Stop in at the parts department and give them a listen, because yes, you can hear the music at 80 MPH.

Hear! Hear!

One of the nice things about late winter in northern Nevada is getting in the new products for the spring. We receive new stuff almost everyday this time of year. One of the new products we got in this week is from Hog Tunes. Their new product is called the Tweeter. It fits on your fairing.

The Tweeter is designed for the H-D batwing fairing and mounts on the dash area over the speedo-tach. It is, as the name implies, a pair of one inch tweeters that deliver mid to upper range sounds. The kit is easy to mount, comes in satin black to match the stock Harley inner fairing. It is paint ready if you have a gloss black or color matched inner fairing. the wiring harness is plug and play.

Easy to install at home, the kit comes with two sets of speaker grills, and a drilling template for perfect mounting holes. The tweeter is warranted by the manufacturer for 20 years. Stop by the Reno Harley-Davidson/Buell Parts Department and have a look at the Tweeter Pod.

The Sun is Out! The Sun is Out!!

What a beautiful day! The weather forecast was so promising I unhooked the battery tender and took my scoot for the daily commute. I didn't see a whole lot of bikes out on the freeway, and I was the only bike in our parking lot. I have to admit it was a little chilly this morning. My wind deflector (Can't really call it a windshield. It would have to shield something)/ fairing doesn't offer a lot of protection. Fortunately I have a short ride. It felt pretty good to ride after a couple of weeks of caging. I could feel the knot between my shoulders start to ease. Some of that was because my scoot uses a whole lot less fuel that my truck, but mostly it is great to be back on two wheels.

Cold weather deters a lot of people. Not everyone has a "full on" touring bike with big windshield and massive fairing to ride behind. Memphis Shades is trying to reduce the number of people who need more coverage. They have a new product. You knew I had to get to the pitch sometime huh? Their new detachable fairing is shaped like the traditional H-D batwing and is available with 3 sizes of windscreens. The fairing unit is gloss black and the windscreens are a variety of tints. Easily detachable, and interchangable with Memphis Shades' windshields the fairings offer all the protection of a bat wing. You can see one set up on a Road King Custom in our new bike show room.

There are several other companies that make detachable farings for the Road King. Memphis Shades has gone a little further and offers their Batwing for FL Softails! That is the really exciting part. Now you can have the comfort of a fairing on your Fatboy, Heritage, or Deluxe when you need it, and the clean look of the stock bike when you want it. Stop by and take a look at the Road King Classic in our show room and ask one of our parts professionals how you can get the comfort and convenience of the Memphis shade detachable fairing.

Custom Coverage and You

The traffic is stacking up on 395 north as it does everyday about this time. I start thinking that lane splitting in Nevada would be a great idea. It worked so well for me in Kali. Then I remembered all the near misses I have had when I was staying in my own lane, and most of those were when I was in my truck. Now I am thinking that bikes should have their own elevated lane, or if that is too expensive maybe a rocket launcher. Just a thought.

If you had purchased a new Harley-Davidson from us in the last 60 days, and had our service department install a Genuine H-D rocket launcher, you could get that launcher covered under warranty for the remainder of your new bike warranty!! That would include the labor also. Now we are talking customer care. Now we are talking Custom Coverage Program.

Harley-Davidson does not make a rocket launcher (more the pity on occassion), but they do make hundreds of other parts and accessories that can be covered under a special warranty program known as Custom Coverage. When you buy a new bike, any qualifying parts or accessories you buy from, and have installed by the selling dealer within 60 days, can be covered for the remainder of your new bike warranty. Normal parts and accessory warranty is 90 days ( electrical parts 30 days). Under the Custom Coverage Program you can extend that coverage for up to 24 months. Stop in at the dealership and see me in the Design Center for more details.

CVOs in Stock! Come check them out!

Hello to all my fellow Road Glide fans out there. We now have an amazing silver CVO Road Glide in stock and on the floor waiting for its totally stoked new owner...Stop on by and check it out.... hurry, it wont last long!!

Spring, What!!!!?

Looking out the showroom window it does not look like another six weeks of winter. The sun is shining the roads are dry and the sky is full of those fluffy clouds that every one likes. Our showroom window does face to the east, though, and not much of our weather comes from that direction. Looking west the view is a little more wintery. Which brings me to my inspirational message.

Today is a great day to customize your bike. There is time to select, order and have custom parts installed on your Harley-Davidson. The new Parts and Accessory Catalog has hundreds of pages of accessories for your Harley-Davidson. If you are one of the unfortunates who do not yet have a new catalog, you can go to http://harley-davidson.com/ for the parts that will fit your bike. You can see what many of these parts will look like of your bike by using the customizer feature on the website. Take a few minutes to make your bike the bike you always wanted!

Come see the Darkside Luke

The catalog arrived with the new Dark Custom accessories, and two days later some of the new parts arrived. Kenny has set up a new parts display at the parts counter with a lot of the new items for you to look at, touch, and buy!!! The Tribal design parts are cool. I think they will find their way onto a lot of bikes.

Kenny also displayed some new chrome covers for FLHX mirrors. Several of you have asked me about chrome mirrors for the FLHX. We have them in stock priced at $69.95. The Chrome covers will go a long way to set off the stock inner fairing.

If you haven't been into the new store yet, put it your list of things to do. You won't believe the difference. We may not have stuffed animals or a giant ferris wheel, but we have motorcycles, parts and apparel!

Not so indtimidating the second time around

My first attempt at blogging went fairly well, so I'm, taking another shot. A couple of months ago in the Chrome Consultant Corner I talked about black being the new chrome. We just received a copy of the Winter Parts and Accessory catalog and it is full of new blacked out parts. The Dark Custom has really taken hold at H-D. I will go into more detail in a Chrome Corner, but a couple of the hot new items are black trimmed windshields, and a black Stealth Luggage rack. If you are looking for more black parts for your bike the new catalog is a must see.

At the last Garage Party, Several of you were asking about turn signal button extensions. I said I knew that they were available and would find them. I found them! If you are "thumbally challenged" Kuryakyn offers Thumbnails in black and chrome. They are available through the Reno H-D parts counter. (PN 6267 for black and 6268 for chrome)

First Time blogger

Whoa! My first entry into the blogosphere. I have to tell you, an empty text box is pretty intimidating for a guy who is a rider not a writer.

I do want to let you know about a new product we have in our service Department. We just received a locking system for Road King Classic saddlebags. This system actually locks the bag lid with a keyed internal lock. It is called the Stealth Talon Saddlebag lock System and costs $199.95.

Stop in at our new location at 2315 Market street. Visit our new showroom and have a look at this new lock system.

Dirt Track Racing Heritage Fuels Bold Performance and Striking Style for New XR1200

Inspired by the XR750, the most dominating American dirt track racing motorcycle of all-time, the Harley-Davidson XR1200 is poised and ready to boost adrenalin levels on streets, roads and highways around the world.

The XR1200 is a powerful new Harley-Davidson hot rod motorcycle that was initially launched only for European markets in April 2008. With the high degree of interest and enthusiastic reception surrounding the bike’s European release, as well as the wide demand for an aggressive and sporty American V-Twin motorcycle, Harley-Davidson is now launching the XR1200 worldwide.

Drawing significant design influences from the successful Harley-Davidson XR750 motorcycles that set new standards for dirt track racing success over the last 30 years, the XR1200 adds the latest technical innovation for potent performance with smooth handling on the street. In fact, Harley-Davidson dirt track racing legends Scott Parker and Rich King participated in the XR1200 development, along with European GP racing champion Adrien Morillas.

“The XR1200 is a motorcycle with an aggressive attitude that comes from its roots in dirt track racing,” said Bill Davidson, Harley-Davidson Vice President, Core Customer Marketing. “Winning on the track is part of Harley-Davidson heritage. The XR1200 will certainly provide the high levels of performance and distinct style demanded by uncompromising riders, so we are very fired up to make the XR1200 available to riders in North America and around the world.”

The new Harley Iron 883 is dressed for a dark ride

Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycles like the Iron 883 have stood against the grain since their introduction in 1957, when the modern rebel culture was being bred from restless veterans and hot rod pioneers. Sportster motorcycles became the starting point for many legendary choppers of the 1960s, while also getting pumped up for championship dirt racing and dare devil stunt riding in the 1970s.

The Iron 883 model continues that rebellious tradition with responsive handling, smooth clutch effort and durable carbon reinforced drive belt while pushing the styling of motorcycling minimalism to the edge. Decked in black from fender-to-fender, the new Harley-Davidson Iron 883 motorcycle brings the beat of an 883 Evolution® engine backed up by a combo of gritty, old-school garage features like front fork gaiters, drag style handlebar and side-mount license plate holder. A ticket to ride the Iron 883 starts at just $7,899 MSRP, leaving plenty of freedom for customization.

“The Iron 883 defies the plastic conventions of other motorcycles at this price,” said Mark-Hans Richer, Harley-Davidson Chief Marketing Officer. “It’s got old school style, a new school ride and gives the owner a platform for creative customization.”
The black powder-coated 883cc Evolution powertrain with black covers takes the Iron 883 deep into the heart of darkness. With Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) and performance tuning with a broad torque curve, the Iron 883 delivers plenty of power for the city scene. The pipes on the straight cut shorty dual exhaust flow the distinctive Harley-Davidson V-Twin sound.

The black chopped rear fender with its combination stop/turn/tail lights shows more of the 150 mm rear tire and black, 13-spoke cast aluminum wheel, while the front tire also rides on a black wheel. The rest of the Iron 883 gets a darker-suited presence with black front forks and fender supports, fuel tank, oil tank cover, belt guard, drag style handlebar and mid mount foot controls.
A one-piece, solo classic seat with a height of 25.3 inches fits the lone rider, while a passenger seat and a backrest in complementing black finishes can be added as accessories.

As the latest of the Harley-Davidson Dark Custom motorcycles, the Iron 883 is stripped down and ripe for custom creativity. Dark Custom motorcycle riders have the youngest average age for Harley-Davidson buyers. Soul mates of the Iron 883 include the Nightster®, Night Train®, Cross Bones®, Fat Bob® and Street Bob® motorcycles. Check out more on Dark Custom motorcycles at www.harley-davidson.com/darkcustom

May is Women Riders Month

Harley -Davidson has declared May as Women Riders Month. In the past 20 years the percentage of women who have purchased new Harley-Davidson motorcycles has tripled, with women now accounting for nearly 20% of new H-D purchases.

During Women Riders Month Harley-Davidson is encouraging 100,000 women throughout the Untied States to learn to Ride. Harley-Davidson plans to set a Guinness World Record for the number of women motorcycle riders trained in a single weekend during the first weekend of May 2009.

Activities also include the 3rd Annual International Female Ride Day on Friday, May 1, 2009. The day celebrates women of all ages who take life by the handlebars by encouraging them to ride.

New Store Opens

Hi everyone, I'm Ray the Director of Operations for Reno Harley-Davidson/Buell. In early Janury we opened our new store just across the street from our previous location. In case you have not seen the new digs I invite you to stop by and check it out. It is a great looking facility and much larger than our previous location. We have an expanded motorcycle showroom with over 60 bikes on the floor and expanded service, clothing and parts areas as well.

In Novemeber 08 we opened Big House Customs (a division of Reno Harley-Davidson) right here on our campus where we can make your dream bike just the way you want it or we can do performance work to make it faster and produce more horsepower and torque. The best part is Big House Customs is wide open where you can actually see the bike being worked on and see how it is looking at each stage. We have a brand new dyno for performance tuning that can handle trikes too. The only dyno in northern Nevada that can handle trikes by the way!

Come by and see us!
